Marina and the Diamonds – The Family Jewels on Spotify
Top ten album The Family Jewels thankfully arrives on Spotify, saving our blushes after we named Marina and the Diamonds as a Hot on Spotify for 2010 pick back in January.
As you might recall, Marina and the Diamonds are/is Welsh/Greek singer Marina Diamandis. “I’m Marina. You are the Diamonds,” she has explained. The Family Jewels was released in the UK on 22 February.
The album features the singles I Am Not A Robot, Mowgli’s Road and Hollywood, which is currently all over UK radio. There is no doubt that Marina can write a decent pop song as well as any of the other raft of young British female artists assaulting the charts at the moment. But your enjoyment of The Family Jewels is likely to hinge on whether or not you can stomach Marina’s wacky vocal stylings, with added Auto-Tune annoyances.
