At last! The playlist that Spotify was made for! The Spotiguide 100 is probably the best Spotify playlist in the world, containing, as it does, the 100 greatest tracks of all time as selected by YOU.
That’s because The Spotiguide 100 is a collaborative playlist with tracks chosen by discerning Spotiguide readers. And not just any tracks – these are the songs you never get sick of, the songs you can listen to again and again. And if you don’t agree that this playlist contains the best 100 tracks in the world, then just go ahead and change it.
Feel free to collaborate and add your own favourite tracks. There are only three rules:
1. Add one, remove one. The playlist should always have 100 tracks.
2. Only one track per artist – sort by artist to check.
3. A maximum of 5 additions and removals per reader.
It’s YOUR playlist, so help us make it the best it can be. If you have any comments, post them here. Now go stick the playlist on shuffle and enjoy!
The weekend is almost here, and this is its soundtrack – a huge 100 tracks from one of the most important and consistently excellent record labels in music history. The Motown Top 100 Spotiguide Playlist does exactly what it says on the label, presenting a ton of the very best songs from Detroit’s finest export since the motor car.
Indeed, Berry Gordy Jr founded the label in 1960 with the aim of introducing the assembly line process he’d seen in his work at the Ford Motor Company to the music industry. The result was a huge outpouring of classic pop music written and performed by some of the best songwriters and musicians of all time.
This playlist features the stellar likes of Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, and many, many more. Chances are you’ll be very familiar with many of the tracks here, but you may also find a few previously undiscovered gems. Whether treating it as an introduction to Motown, or a celebration of a much-loved back catalogue, delve into this playlist and enjoy.
The 4th series of Skins ended last night with something of a bang. Unfairly categorised as a show for teenagers about sex and drugs, Skins is actually a smart, well-written and acted character-led drama, and probably one of the best homegrown shows on UK TV.
Key to the success of Skins is the music. The soundtrack to series 4 was an eclectic mix, veering from dance to indie to classic pop, with a bit of George Formby and the theme from Star Trek thrown in for good measure. There are a lot of new and little-known acts featured – check out the likes of Port O’Brien, 6 Day Riot and The Ettes.
Spotiguide’s Skins Series 4 Spotify Playlist features a whopping 68 tracks and runs for 4.4 hours. There is bound to be something here you’ll love, and most probably something you’ll hate, but hopefully it will help Skins fans keep going until series 5 appears.
