3 Mobile has become the first UK network to offer the Nokia 5230 handset – and it comes with Spotify pre-installed. The 5230 has a 3.2″ 16:9 widescreen touchscreen display, an accelerometer, assisted GPS, 3G connectivity, and a 2 megapixel camera.

Crucially, however, the handset does not feature wi-fi connectivity. And while the Spotify app is pre-installed, the phone is not available with the Spotify Premium bundle included with 3′s Spotify plans. This means, obviously, that you’ll need a separate Spotify Premium subscription to enjoy Spotify on the 5230. And while Spotify will work fine over 3G, downloading offline content will take much longer than over a wi-fi connection.

Remoteless is a new iPhone app that allows users to control Spotify running on a PC from an iPhone. It works over wi-fi or via the internet, and allows you to search and browse for music, start, pause, skip, change volume, start playlists and more, all remotely.

Much of this is rendered pointless if you have Spotify Mobile, but if you want to control Spotify on your PC without getting up from the sofa, then Remoteless could be just the thing for you.

Mobile network 3 has announced plans to expand its range of Spotify-inclusive handset deals. 3 currently bundles a Spotify Premium subscription with the HTC Hero handset. In a UK press briefing yesterday, 3 CEO Kevin Russell said the company will add more handsets over the next few months on Spotify-inclusive plans.

3 seem intent on pushing Spotify, along with the Android phone platform, although the network also offers a large range of other phones and there is no indication yet which will be included in the Spotify plans.
